Increase in ER Wait Times

Increased demand for emergency services has caused long wait times in the DHCHD Emergency Room. Only utilize the medical 911 system when experiencing an emergency. If you come to the ER for a non-emergency, you will still be seen but you will be triaged and asked to wait in the waiting room. Please see the chart for reference.

Please do not use the Emergency Room for COVID testing, if you would like a COVID Test please call 806.244.5668. If you come to the ER for a COVID Test you will be admitted and charged as an ER patient, your bill will be exponentially higher than a clinic visit.

If possible, utilize other medical resources such as your primary care physician. This allows ambulances and the ER to be available for life-threatening emergencies.

With questions, contact 806.244.4571.
