DHCHD To Welcome New Podiatrist

DALHART, TEXAS – Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District is pleased to welcome Mark Gerig, DPM, as podiatrist at Dalhart Family Medicine Clinic. Dr. Gerig will begin seeing patients at DFMC beginning January 26.

Dr. Gerig specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of the foot and ankle. He is joining DHCHD from Sicher Foot Center in Amarillo, Texas, and he will treat patients in Dalhart on the last Thursday of each month. His specialties include bunion correction, fracture repair, plantar fasciitis, ingrown toenails, flatfeet, pediatric foot pathology, tendon repair, Achilles tendinitis, diabetic foot management, toe joint replacement for arthritis, and more.

“We are excited to offer podiatry closer to home for the residents of Dalhart and the surrounding areas,” said Kacey Schniederjan, DHCHD CEO. “Dr. Gerig has extensive training in the most current surgical evidence-based treatments of the foot and ankle. We look forward to having him on our team.”

Dr. Gerig graduated from Midwestern University in Arizona and completed a three-year surgical residency at Presbyterian/VA Hospital/Kaiser Foundation. He is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.

Sec. 181.105. REQUIRED INFORMATION REGARDING CONSUMER ACCESS TO HEALTH RECORDS AND COMPLAINTS. (a) Except as provided by Subsection (b), a covered entity shall prominently post on the entity's Internet website and at any entity facility detailed instructions for a consumer to:
(1) request the consumer's health care records from the entity;
(2) contact the disciplinary or licensing authority for the covered entity; and
(3) file a consumer complaint as described by Section 181.103.
(b) This section does not apply to a covered entity that conducts claims processing, data processing, data analysis, utilization review, or billing on behalf of another covered entity that provides health care services directly to consumers.
