DALHART, TEXAS – Dalhart Family Medicine Clinic announces the extension of Walk-in Clinic hours. Beginning October 1, patients receive care Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 8 PM and Saturday, 10 AM to 2 PM, without an appointment.
Nurse Practitioner Melissa Jones will see patients facing acute illnesses or injuries as well as chronic conditions at DFMC. With experience working in urgent care facilities, she found a passion for serving rural communities.
“I love being able to give people the care they need, when they need it. That is why we have extended our hours – there are people who get sick before or after work,” Jones said. “I want to be able to help people when they need it the most.”
Jones has worked at Dalhart Family Medicine Clinic for almost one year, and is committed to improving access to quality medical care in rural communities.
“I like being able to provide quality care for the patients here in Dalhart. I love rural communities because I get to know our patients and they get to know me,” Jones said about serving the Texas panhandle. “I want them to feel comfortable, know that we care about them and want them to feel better quickly.”
Improving access to medical care is something that is on CEO, Loree Tamayo’s mind as she leads the hospital district. Since taking the position in August, she has added orthopedic services as well as teledermatology, incorporating the services Dalhart needs.
“This is yet another way we are serving our patients, providing quick access to medical care on their schedule,” Tamayo said.
