About:
Dr. Potter was born and raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, where his passion for soccer began at an early age. During his senior year at S.H. Rider High School, he achieved a state championship in soccer—an accomplishment that helped shape his discipline, work ethic, and competitive drive.
He went on to attend Texas Christian University, where he earned a varsity letter in soccer and met his wife, Anne, who was also a collegiate soccer player. Anne, a proud Amarillo native, has been a steadfast partner in both life and their shared passions.
After a brief experience in surgical sales, Dr. Potter felt a strong calling to medicine and pursued his medical degree at Saba University School of Medicine in The Bottom, Caribbean Netherlands. Following medical school, he completed a preliminary year in general surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, before matching into orthopedic surgery residency at the same institution. He further specialized with an orthopedic trauma fellowship at the renowned R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, Maryland.
Dr. Potter began his medical career in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he helped establish a trauma hospital, played an integral role in resident education, developed a successful research program, and provided comprehensive trauma care. In 2022, he and Anne welcomed the opportunity to return to Texas, where he now proudly serves the Texas Panhandle and remains deeply committed to the health and well-being of the community.
Family is the cornerstone of Dr. Potter’s life. He and Anne are raising their three children together, with Anne running her own business while also teaching their children. They are active members of First Baptist Church Amarillo. Outside of medicine, Dr. Potter enjoys coaching his children’s soccer teams, hunting, fly-fishing, snow skiing, and restoring classic cars.
At the heart of Dr. Potter’s private practice is a philosophy of care rooted in empathy, excellence, and integrity. He treats every patient with the same compassion and dedication he would expect for himself or his family, striving each day to confidently say, “I did all I could.”
