DHCHD to Launch New Patient Health System October 23

DALHART, TEXAS – Dallam Hartley Counties Hospital District is pleased to announce the transition to MEDITECH Expanse, an electronic health record system. The transition will begin on October 23, 2022, at midnight.

The upgrade to MEDITECH is a positive benefit for DHCHD patients and the local community, which will come with improvements to patient billing, record keeping, a new online patient portal, and more. As the transition is made, there is expected to be a slight delay in services, such as longer wait times to make appointments or have lab work or radiology services performed.

“This is a great system upgrade that will help with communication for every facility at DHCHD as well as help with overall quality and efficiency,” said DHCHD CEO Kacey Schniederjan. “We are double staffing the walk-in services to try to help with the anticipated delay this new system will initially cause. However, this transition will not affect ER services for any traumas at Coon Memorial Hospital.”
