DHCHD made a net profit of 1.5 million

A statement from CEO, Loree Tamayo & CFO, Joe Bradick:
This fiscal year 2020 ending 7/31/20 DHCHD had the best financials ever reported. The hospital district is in the strongest financial position in its existence. First of all, we would like to thank God for making this all possible, over the course of time there have been things that have happened that are unexplainable, through his blessings we have been able to continue to serve this community. Secondly, it was not one single person that brought this district back, it was each and every employee’s hard work, not giving up, and grit than brought us to where we are today.
Amazingly, DHCHD made a net profit of 1.5 million for the first time in many years. This all happened without any outside government funding and including the financial strain of lost revenue and extra expenses related to COVID. This is the result of all the changes that have been made starting in August 2018. This includes the organizational restructuring, revenue enhancement programs plus numerous cost-saving initiatives. Fiscal year 2020 our patient revenue was $3.4 million higher than the previous year which further indicates the local community’s confidence in the care and services provided here.
