DHCHD COVID-19 Update 4/4/20 POSITIVE CASE UPDATE

As previously stated the positive COVID – 19 case has been under investigation. We take this very seriously and want the community to have the correct facts about the case. Thank you for your patience as we collected important facts.  Here is the most up to date information. The patient was exposed out of our area due to travel. The patient did return to Dallam County, the only contact the patient had to the community was the DHCHD Emergency Department before being transferred to Amarillo. All DHCHD staff was properly protected when providing treatment. We are following all CDC guidelines on the monitoring and precautions of staff. The patient is now quarantined in Amarillo and in stable condition. The patient’s family is quarantined to their home in Dallam County. The county officials are providing everything the family needs to their home. The family is following compliance rules very strictly.  Any other people that had contact with the patient are being contacted and monitored by county officials. We will continue to keep the community updated.
